The 39th Hong Kong International Film Festival yesterday closed. The closing film PORT OF CALL (DAP HUET CHUM MUI) last night held its world premiere at the Cultural Center. Director Philip Yung Chi Kwong and actors Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Jacky Cai Jie, Patrick Tam Yiu Man, Elaine Jin (Kam Yin Ling), Jessie Li (Chun Ha) and Michael Ning (Bak Ji) attended.

Sing Sing in the film played a divorced veteran cop in his 50's with a daughter. He admitted that the character was a huge challenge for him. Everyday he had to spend half a hour to dye his hair white. He said, "I thought about not washing my hair to keep from dying it again the next day, but I was afraid of head pimples. I could only wash it everyday. (Did you old make up scare you?) No, instead after removing the make up I wasn't used to my own face. I haven't never grown my facial hair that long before."

Sing Sing also said that he was very happy to make this film. Because from working with many professional actors he also worked with many new actors. They all had a lot of potential and he hoped that the film could give them even better development in the future. Among the numerous professional actors was Golden Horse Best Actor Eddie Chan (Ai Dik). Sing Sing said, "Although he has been away from the film industry for years, he has participated in plays in the U.S. So he too hoped to act again in films. His acting of course is as sharp as ever!" Sing Sing's manager Siu Mei revealed that PORT has already received many international film festival invitations. Sing Sing's performance in the film was even more outstanding that DIVERGENCE (SAM CHA HAU), which made him a Best Actor. This time might bring Sing Sing more honors.

Cai Jie said that she has already taken precaution against wardrobe malfunction. Was she sexier in the film or in person yesterday? She said that last night she was sexier. She also said that in the film she played a bad girl from the lower class and had bed scenes and car scenes. Her co-star was Bak Ji. Cai Jie said, "No nudity was needed, fully clothed but conceptually daring. (Was it awkward?) No, co-star Bak Ji was a little shy. So I would try to make him talk. He is very nice! (Any biological reaction during the performance?) It's acting's reaction."

Cai Jie was nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award Best New Performer award with ABERDEEN (HEUNG GONG JAI). She said that she would take it naturally. She was still looking for what she would wear.
