The suspense film INSANITY (BO FUNG YU)'s director Lee Kuan Yew and two leads Sean Lau Ching Wan and Fiona Sit Hoi Kei earlier appeared on the Cable program Film Montage and discussed the film's subject: emotional disorder. Sit Hoi Kei even described her own experience with the illness.
INSANITY's subject was mental illness. The lead could not accept the fact that his child was dead, after killing his wife he failed to kill himself. He was arrested and sentenced to indefinite treatment at a mental institution. Lau Ching Wan in the film played the schizophrenia patient who even assaulted his on screen wife Michelle Ye (Yip Suen). He joked, "Yip Suen really took a brutal beating from me, luckily the director only needed one or two takes." Lau Ching Wan said that the character was very heavy. When he was studying the character's mental state he could not pull himself out and his mood became low. He urged those with emotional disorder to actively find a way out.
Sit Hoi Kei said that when she was ill she did not find out until later; at first she would often cry and get upset over something that was very trivial. Later she could not eat, very afraid to see people. At her worst she would even mutilate herself and she only weighed 80 some pounds. She said that luckily she was able to catch it early when recovery was easier and did not rely too much on medication. When asked how she would relieve stress, Sit Hoi Kei admitted. "The most direct way is to share and talk with friends, not to hide yourself. Otherwise like a rubber band if you are stretched too far you would snap."
