The 200 million RMB action film about Chinese and Korean military elites teaming up to resolve a super nuclear weapon crisis, HELIOS (CHET DOH) will open nationally on April 30. The film's actors Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Shawn Yue Man Lok, Ji Jin-Hee, Choi Si-Won, Wang Xueqi and Feng Wenjuan and directors Longman Leung Lok Man and Sunny Luk Kim Ching yesterday attended the press conference in Beijing. Two concept posters were also unveiled, one with the seven HELIOS characters and one with a "forest of guns".
"Song God" Cheung Hok Yau lately seemed to have eased out the silver screen. His comeback this time immediately made him the focus. He admitted that he took HELIOS because he appreciated COLD WAR (HONG JIN) and the script and the two directors moved him. In the film he played an university physics professor. Not only did he try his first bearded look but also caught up on physics before hand. On the set he even received the nickname "super intelligent academic tyrant". He immediately said, "This time I represent (Nick) Cheung Ka Fai and Chang Chen. They thought that just sending someone named Cheung was enough." The host asked Hok Yau whether actor was his daughter's favorite? Hok Yau kept joking, "Me. Because I don't let her know about the other actors, she has no choice." How did he communicate with Ji Jin-Hee? He immediately demonstrated how he asked Ji Jin-Hee what he had for lunch. He only said kimchi. Ji Jin-Hee answered in Putonghua, "No problem. Actually we couldn't communicate at all." The crowd cracked up. The host asked Hok Yau if Ka Fai was his real brother? Hok Yau said, "My father has already passed away, so there is no way to confirm. If he said it earlier I could have asked." Later each actor talked about their roles in the film. Wang Xueqi said, "In the film I play the supervisor, so I stick my nose in everything." Hok Yau said, "I would sing, sing anything and everything and entertain everyone." Yue Man Lok said, "I clap, when Hok Yau sings I clap." Choi Si-Won said in Putonghua, "I listen to songs." Jin Jin-Hee joked, "Listen to songs, Hok Yau's singing has improved." The crowd cracked up again because someone actually dared to criticize Hok Yau's singing. Hok Yau said, "He indeed is my friend, he knows that I really have improved."
After the event each actor spoke with the media. Hok Yau was asked why Cheung Ka Fai did not attend. Was he afraid of having the spotlight stolen? Hok Yau joked that he banned Ka Fai from appear, as he did not want him to steal his thunder. He was willing to take this role because of the good cast, the good script and good everything. Of course the price was good too. Lok Jai this time played a cop. Some said that he and Choi Si-Won were the most handsome and the coolest in the film. Lok Jai immediately asked everyone not to hurt him and said that the film still had any cool men. Choi Si-Won and Ji Jin-Hee were praised for their good acting. Ji Jin-Hee answered in Putonghua, "No, no!" Choi Si-Won was also praised as the long legged man who was as pretty as flowers. He was embarrassed and joked in Putonghua, "Gong Xi Fa Cai, I like you, thank you!"
